Halter broke horses are those that have undergone the initial gentling phase of training. This means the horse has been worked with to overcome its fear of humans. It can be easily haltered and has learned to walk on a halter and lead, will allow touch/grooming over all parts of its body, will pick up its feet, load in a trailer, lounges, and has started to learn to give to pressure. These horses have not had a saddle placed on their back at this stage and will require much more training before they are rideable. These horses are not recommended for the novice horseperson.
